Metal, wood, timber, and even plastic— whatever is the material, a band saw will surely do the work for you.

Band saw is a type of blade often used to cut a variety of materials. It is usually utilized in wood and metal work, particularly in cutting and carving irregular shapes. It is powered by sources such as wind, electrical motor, water, or steam.

A band saw features a toothed metal blade that operates in a continuous loop. The band is placed on two wheels that rotate in a plane, which then cuts the material that passes through it. This allows the user to trim the material into various shapes. They are particularly useful in home workshops as well as in different craft projects.

There are different types of band saw. This includes the floor and the mounted variety. A mounted band saw unit is often attached to a stand or bench. It is ideal for small wood or metal cutting projects.

A floor band saw on the other hand, is a bit larger than its mounted counterpart. They are often referred to as cabinet band as they are used for large woodwork such as furniture and cabinets.  A floor band saw also features a powerful blade, which allows the user to cut through thick pieces of wood.
